Zukhra Bayburina



Russian-born Mezzo-soprano, voice teacher and vocal coach, Zukhra Bayburina earned a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Ufa College of Fine Arts studying with Adele Shaikhlislamova and a M.M. in Opera Singing, Concert Performance and Voice Teaching from Ufa Academy of Arts studying with Miliausha Murtazina.

She has completed additional studies with Renata Scotto at the "Renata Scotto Opera Academy" and with Maestro Luciano Facchin Berengo of the "Teatro alla Scala" at the "Scuola Musicale di Milano".

She has taken master classes with Ingeborg Wamser, Irina Arkhipova and Mariella Adani.

Ms. Bayburina has performed as a soloist with the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre and received an honorary award for the interpretation of the leading roles in "Carmen", "Aida", "Il Trovatore", "Un ballo in maschera", "Rigoletto", "Requiem" by Verdi, "Petite Messe Solennelle", "Stabat Mater" by Pergolesi, "The Queen of Spades", "The Tsar's Bride", "Alexander Nevsky", "Cavalleria rusticana" and others.

She excelled in numerous national and international competitions such as "Francisco Vinias"

(Spain, presidents: 1992 Joan Sutherland and 1994 Magda Olivero), "Viotti - Varallo Valsesia" (Italy), "Ismaele Voltolini" (Italy), "Rosita e Ferrante Mecenati" (Italy), "Città di Alcamo" (Italy), "Renata Scotto Opera Academy" scholarship (Italy, artistic director: Renata Scotto), "Premio Caffa Righetti" (Italy), "Festival della Lirica di Sanremo" - Best singer of the year (Italy, president: Giulietta Simionato), "Concours International de Chant de Marmande" (France).

As a professional opera singer she has performed in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United States.

She worked as Opera and voice teacher at the "Scuola Musicale di Milano" and the "Scuola Civica di Bresso" in Milan, Italy.

Ms. Bayburina was a faculty member of the French-American School of Music in New York, NY.

Many of her students are winners of numerous competitions for opera singers and active in opera companies, theatres, academies and universities.
